there are people who won’t change. it is important to not waste time with them. However, many allies grossly underestimate the number of people who might change out of some weird fear of engaging that I do not fully understand. White progressives are the least likely to engage across the ideological divide than black progressives, latino progressives, and conservatives. People should ask: are there persuadable people in myself circle whom I am not talking to because I have mistakenly given up too quickly?
